Fort Lauderdale, FL – March 7, 2024 – The Kimpton Shorebreak Resort in Fort Lauderdale ushered in a new era with the launch of Escape Rooftop Bar, the hotel’s spectacular rooftop bar and pool venue. To commemorate Escape’s launch, the hidden gem of a hotel hosted an intimate sunset soirée followed by a family-style dinner showcasing the coastal Italian menu at La Fuga, the property’s signature restaurant.

Upon arrival, guests were welcomed with a glass of Hampton Water Rosé and whisked to Escape where sunsets were being served. As attendees admired the incredible sunset views, servers offered passed bites from Escape’s new small plates menu including Prosciutto Bruschetta, Falafel with hummus, tahini vinaigrette, and feta, Croquettes filled with salt cod, chorizo, Manchego, and Octopus served with a salad of fingerling potatoes, olives, celery, bell pepper, arugula and a lemon-parsley vinaigrette. Selections from Escape’s new cocktail menu, curated by Food and Beverage Director Nathan Berumen, were on offer in addition to the rosé compliments of event sponsor Hampton Water. Escape rooftop bar is the sole location on Fort Lauderdale Beach with westerly, sunset views from a rooftop. The bar will be embracing these views daily with “Sunset Hour Specials”. For the 30 minutes leading up to and after the actual sunset, bottle and drink specials will be offered. Then guests were led downstairs to La Fuga where Executive Chef Michael Mayer’s menu was the star as the evening continued with live jazz and a sumptuous dinner featuring shared antipasti – Polpettes di Vitello, Capesante alla Piastra and Melanzana e Ricotta Pizza. Lasagne al Forno and Pappardelle e Pomodoro were also served. For dessert, individual trios of Tiramisu, Panna Cotta, and Cannoli provided a sweet ending to the evening.
