Miami Beach, FL – March 23, 2023 – The Miami Beach City Commission has voted not to impose the strict curfew slated to be enforced March 23-27 in response to violence seen on Ocean Drive this past weekend.
The declaration would have enforced a midnight curfew for all of South Beach, with a mandatory 6:00pm liquor store closure and the closure of public garages starting at 9pm. Citing overly strict rules and unjust punishment of Miami Music Week activations, commissioners voted not to impose the entire proposed curfew. Instead commissioners voted only to enforce early closure of liquor stores at 6pm from Thursday to Monday.
