Annual YoungArts Art Basel Miami Beach VIP Breakfast & Artist Talk

Miami, FL – November 30, 2022 – YoungArts hosted its annual VIP Breakfast and Artist Talk in partnership with Art Basel Miami Beach in celebration of Miami Art Week on November 30, 2022. The arts community gathered on the YoungArts Plaza for breakfast and relaxing in lounge areas created by longstanding YoungArts partner Anthropologie. Guests toured the exhibition “Sunshine featuring works by Mark Fleuridor” with YoungArts Associate Curator Luisa Munera before making their way to the YoungArts Jewel Box for a talk with artist Mark Fleuridor and artists and exhibition co-curator Derrick Adams.

Inspired by ancestral lineage and the subtropics, the exhibition presents layered reconstructions of family, friends, home spaces and tropical plants to arrive at abstracted environments that investigate the underlying theme: the cycle of life. “Sunshine” explores the progression of Fleuridor’s body of work and the narratives that emerge from his quilt-making, collages and watercolors.
