Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken Inaugurates Cervecería La Tropical

Miami, FL – March 11, 2021 – On Thursday morning, Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken inaugurated Cervecería La Tropical in Miami. Cervecería La Tropical is a new Miami craft brewery that celebrates Miami’s multicultural heritage and lifestyle. Never forgetting it’s Cuban soul, La Tropical’s mission is to passionately handcraft premium cervezas and other beverages to bring sun, fun and rhythm to the lives of people everywhere. With sustainability at its core, Jardines La Tropical will use collected rain water to water its gardens and spent grain from the cervecería for fertilizer. In partnership with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, a South Florida institution and botanical garden, La Tropical will help raise awareness and funds for “The Million Orchid Project” to restore nearly extinct native orchids within the South Florida environment. Eco friendly 6-pack carriers that are 100% plastic free, biodegradable and compostable will carry all La Tropical can packages.

La Tropical’s roots in the United States date back more than two decades, through the sale of a Florida-brewed pilsner beer and, more recently, through a successful launch of La Tropical’s La Original Ambar Lager in 2016 that generated a great deal of excitement in the community, with consumers lining up for hours for a taste of La Tropical’s original recipe. In turn, La Tropical garnered national and international attention within the industry. A joint venture with Heineken ensued and La Tropical embarked on a mission to build a new and permanent home for the brewery in Miami, purchasing real estate, building the brewery, hiring and training staff and researching and developing the 20 handcrafted beers that will be available on-site.
