Hypersensitive Romantic Opening Reception at Oolite Arts
Miami Beach, FL – January 22, 2020 – Curated by Amy Galpin, Diego Gutierrez‘s first solo show is an immersive and playful exhibition that explores the function of painting in today’s world, with works focused on Gutierrez’s self-described tendency to over-romanticize experiences both real and imagined at Oolite Arts. Gutierrez’s paintings are the product of constant revision, playing with perspective, and combining three-dimensional elements that invigorate compositions in unexpected ways. This exhibition presents new and recent works by the artist that offer a fresh perspective on the potential of painting while synthesizing diverse art historical influences.
