Miami Beach, FL – February 27, 2011 – The Festival set sail for the first time ever with Miami’s most beautiful views and famed brunch as the backdrop! The Biscayne Lady yacht hosted the Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink Brunch at Sea as James Beard Award-Winning Chef Michael Schwartz and Pastry Chef Hedy Goldsmith joined the culinary legend and Master of simplicity himself, Jonathan Waxman of New York City’s Barbuto for a delectable floating feast. Savory and sweet small plates set the stage for what’s in season on local farms like rainbows of ripe, sweet heirloom tomatoes, delicate squash blossoms, and a veritable encyclopedia of herbs. Hedy’s childhood treats, including her prized Pop Tarts, sang to a live Jazz soundtrack, an essential part of the Genuine experience. Schwartz, Goldsmith, and Waxman welcomed guests to The Biscayne Lady as it trolled the waters on a crystal clear morning with all the makings of a perfect brunch on board.
