2013 NBA Champions Miami Heat Parade

Miami, FL – June 24, 2013 – Nearly 400,000 people lined the streets of Downtown Miami yesterday morning to watch the 2013 NBA Champions Miami Heat parade through the city. An entourage of luxury cars from The Collection joined the parade as Dwyane Wade is the official spokesperson and billboard honoree for the Coral Gables car dealership, and they’ve been an important part of the Heat franchise. People came as far as Palm Beach County and as early as 5am to start lining up to get a good spot for the festivities. Starting on Calle Ocho, the parade ran through Brickell and finished in Downtown at the AmericanAirlines Arena, with a private rally for season ticket holders. Double-decker buses filled with Heat players, their families, and the big trophy came through the streets full of confetti and fans. Even some of the players helped cool down the hot crowd with super soakers. This was the second parade in a row for the Heat, as they made history last Thursday night by becoming the sixth franchise in NBA history to win consecutive championships. They had spent the whole weekend partying and celebrating their new title, from going straight to STORY to pop 100 bottles of Dom Perignon on winning night to Bamboo, HaVen, Foxhole, and up to just the night before the parade with LeBron at LIV and Mario Chalmers at Bamboo.
