THE OUTNET Presents Grand Classics: Films with Style Series at Faena
Miami Beach, FL – June 21, 2017 – THE OUTNET presented its third intimate VIP screening event in partnership with Grand Classics, hosted by Helena Christensen at the Faena Hotel, Miami Beach. Not only a true fashion icon, Helena is also a devoted humanitarian, visionary designer and photographer. She chose to present Bonjour Tristesse, a film she feels has really inspired her, as part of the Grand Classics: Films with Style series. The event was co-hosted by Andres Sosa, EVP of THE OUTNET and Katrina Pavlos, founder of Grand Classics, who introduced Helena on the evening. The film screening was followed by an intimate cocktail event for Helena’s peers, friends and a curated guest list of fashion, media and film insiders. The Otto Preminger film, made in 1958, is based on the novel of the same title by Françoise Sagan. Set on the French Riviera, the story centres on Cécile, played by Jean Seberg, a privileged young girl living with her rich playboy father Raymond (David Niven). When Anne (Deborah Kerr), a well-to-do friend of Raymond’s late wife, arrives at the villa for a visit, Cécile is afraid that she will disrupt the undisciplined way of life that she has become accustomed to with her father. Despite his promises of fidelity to Anne, Raymond cannot give up his playboy life or young mistress Elsa (Mylène Demongeot). Cécile does her best to break up the relationship with Anne, with the combination of her disdain and Raymond’s recklessness driving Anne to a tragic end.
