Fort Lauderdale, FL – January 11, 2017 – NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale premiered new exhibitions of acclaimed artists Catherine Opie, José Bedia and David Levinthal. The evening’s festivities kicked off with a talk by Catherine Opie, presented by Venice magazine, in which Opie discussed her 700 Nimes Road photographs of the home and belongings of late actress Elizabeth Taylor.  Catherine Opie: 700 Nimes Road, is made possible with support from Funding Arts Broward, Northern Trust and Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, and is on view at NSU Art Museum along with Jose Bedia Fieldwork: Selections from the de la Cruz Collection and Artist and David Levinthal: Recent Acquisitions. The works by Levinthal were a recent gift to the museum by film producer and collector Donald Rosenfeld. The three exhibitions are part of NSU Art Museum’s Modern Mythologies exhibition series and run through October 8, 2017.
