WRE News: Twin Condo Towers & Reimagined Deauville Hotel Proposed

Miami, FL – November 27, 2024 – A new vision for the iconic Deauville Beach Resort site in North Beach could transform the area with twin 400-foot condo towers and a reimagined version of the historic hotel.

The project, led by the Meruelo family and developer David Martin of Terra Group Miami, aims to blend the Deauville’s signature mid-century charm with modern design. The Miami Beach Planning Board reviewed the initial plans Tuesday but requested more details before the developers return in February.

While the proposal has sparked concerns over zoning and neighborhood scale, it represents a significant step toward revitalizing the long-neglected site, which has been vacant since an electrical fire shuttered the original structure in 2017.
Community input will be sought at a virtual meeting on Dec. 17.
