III Points 2016 – Day 2
Miami, FL – October 8, 2016 – Day 2 of III Points kicked off and Miami had officially caught Saturday Night Fever. Method Man and Redman took the stage and had festival goers lit, bringing back the old school rap feel from the 90’s. The now fully operational outdoor festival stage Mind Melt was taken to the next level by headliner Thievery Corporation. Featuring different vocalists on nearly every song, the emotions they brought to the stage were beyond words. The Isotropic stage turned into a dark psychedelic wonderland as label head at Life and Death, DJ Tennis, took the decks. Walking around the festival grounds, incense wafted gently around providing a dreamlike ambiance. Every little corner of the festival could be explored to find something different, from massage tables, to tea tastings, to a makeshift contemporary art gallery. Headliner Maya Jane Coles at the Main Frame brought the seductive female energy of her music in and wooed festival goers in riffs of deep house. From there it was non stop, followed by UK duo Dusky, and South Africa’s own Black Coffee, the grooves were in session.
