SoFi House Groundbreaking
Miami Beach, FL – October 3, 2016 – With shovels already in the dirt, Sofi House hosted a formal groundbreaking ceremony. The intimate ceremony honored those behind this innovative adaptive reuse project — Miami-based international architects Berenblum Busch (BBA); design build and boutique construction firm BuildWorks; Douglas Elliman’s leading development sales team the Sandberg Nortmann Group; development firm One Realty Capital; and city representatives. This marks a milestone for Miami Beach’s fabled Ocean Beach Historic District, as a piece of 1920’s history (a white wooden bungalow) is being preserved and adapted into an impressive modern home. Described in Miami-Dade County public records as a “simple wood frame 1-story structure with overhanging eaves built circa 1924,” the bungalow was part of the first settlement on Miami Beach.
