Miami Beach, FL – November 29, 2011 – Ferrari North America along with the legendary Interview Magazine hosted guests from around the world, celebrating Ferrari‘s heritage and Luca di Montezemolo‘s 20th anniversary with Ferrari on Tuesday, November 29th.   Ferrari hosted the private party for visitors who were in town  for the Art Basel Miami Beach show.

Joining the event hosts for the evening were guests from the art, fashion, design and music worlds including: Peter M. The event included the U.S. debut of the new 2012 Ferrari 458 Italia Spider, a 562-horsepower 4.5-liter V8-powered vehicle as well as a showcase of several vintage Ferraris.

The occasion also included a screening of RPM, a new 3D video installation by Milan-born video artist Marco Brambilla. Commissioned by Ferrari, RPM was photographed by Brambilla at the Italian Formula One Grand Prix in Monza, Italy.  The video contains archive images from Ferrari’s racing team division, Scuderia Ferrari as well as race broadcasts and film clips which were all sampled to create what the artist calls a compelling psychological portrait of a Formula One driver’s point-of-view during a race.

In addition there was a special performance by American recording artist Janelle Monae, whose singles include 2010 “Tightrope” and “Cold War”.

The private affair took place at 11 11 Lincoln Road, the iconic structure situated at the gateway to Lincoln Road’s pedestrian promenade.  The exclusive space was designed by the Pitzer-prize winningSwiss architecture firm Herzog & de Neuron.
