Miami, FL – November 19, 2011 – Bal Harbour Shops, one of the most luxurious shopping experiences in the United States, will stage the 2012 Resort runway show for Oscar de la Renta in support of Project: New Born Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Philanthropists and fashionistas had the unique opportunity to enjoy the 2012 Resort collection—a celebration of Spain and its rich heritage. The looks are right at home in Miami with its vibrant colors and bold patterns. The collection’s Spanish influences—which supply endless inspiration to Mr. De la Renta—take the form of matador jackets, high-waist, narrow-cut pants and the most playful pompom-trimmed Flamenco hats.

The evening benefited Project: New Born, a nonprofit organization devoted to raising much-needed funds for maintenance and support of Project: New Born Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a facility for imperiled premature and high risk infants located at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.

“Project Newborn is a wonderful organization that cares for infants with special needs. I love children. For me, there is nothing more important in the world than to make a child smile,” de la Renta said.
