Miami Beach, FL – December 6, 2013 – Artist Alexander Mijares gave Art Basel Miami Beach his best with a solo show and partnership with brands like Details Magazine, Heineken, and Brioni. The Miami-based artist debuted his new collection at Mijares Gallery in Wynwood. with Details Magazine hosting the opening night of Random Acts of Art. The week continued to be a success for Mijares, as he was honored at a private dinner with Saveur Magazine and Heineken to celebrate both his roots and history in Miami and for a special piece he created for the beer brand. Furthermore, the SLS Hotel’s XIV Party invited Mijares to transform its iconic duck sculpture into a creation of his own. Details Guild, along with Italian fashion house Brioni, selected Mijares to product a mural inspired by a print from one of the brand’s spring/summer collection pieces, as well.

To prep for the busiest week of the year, Mijares partnered with AmeriCares, a disaster relief and humanitarian media aid organization, and FlyWheel to host a charity ride before Basel kicked off. To encourage riders, Mijares hand-painted a bike to be displayed in the studio until the official end of Basel.
