Miami, FL – April 26, 2023 – The Women of Tomorrow® Mentor & Scholarship Program (WOT) celebrated its 23rd Annual Graduation Luncheon, Wednesday, April 26th at Jungle Island honoring 615 graduating seniors from over 110 South Florida public high schools from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. A hundred and fifty-two thousand dollars ($152,000) in higher education scholarships were awarded to 34 graduating seniors.
Women of Tomorrow® (WOT) Founder & President Jennifer Valoppi addressed the hundreds of attending graduating seniors, mentors, school coordinators and WOT partners, saying “This is always the best day of the year for Women of Tomorrow participants, to see the fabulous accomplishments of our mentees.”
The luncheon’s Keynote Speaker was WOT Alumnae and 2011 graduate from William H. Turner Technical Arts High School Marys Martinez. Martinez is currently a City of Miami Police Department Crime Scene Investigator and adjunct professor at St. Thomas University. She spoke about how WOT helped her overcome obstacles to develop into a confident professional with the ability to set and achieve goals and living the American Dream. WOT Scholarship Committee Chair Robyn Perlman kicked off the scholarship awards and Valoppi presented the Mentor of the Year and School Coordinator of the Year Awards.
