Miami Beach, FL – April 7, 2023 – Moke America, that cute little electric cruiser, shot a new branding campaign for Summer ’23 in Miami Beach’s trendy South of Fifth neighborhood. The groovy Moke hails from the 1960’s and was reintroduced by Moke America in 2016 as a street legal, electric Low Speed Vehicle (LSV). Moke America is known for its easy-breezy lifestyle, open-air ride and popularity with celebrities like the Kardashians, Joe Jonas, Jay Leno, Sir Richard Branson and Paulina Gretzky. The shoot was styled by Dana Goldberg from the Bungalow Agency with looks by Strings Beachwear and featured models from Posh Productions.
The Moke is back, baby! The throwback classic cruiser from the ‘60s, which was beloved by stars and socialites such as Brigitte Bardot, Cher, the Beach Boys, Princess Margaret and Jacqueline Onassis, has been reinvented by Moke America. Electric, street legal and versatile, Moke America runs on good vibes and electric power. Plug it in for 40 miles of fun, from the beach and golf course to the farmer’s market and city streets. Moke America features a steel chassis, hydraulic steering, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, a parking brake and backup camera. It reaches a top speed of 25 mph, allowing it for use on city streets with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less. Customizable in one of 12 rainbow bright colors (+camo), this bespoke Moke (rhymes with “bloke”) turns heads and lights up Instagram feeds. Fun facts:
-Created in 1959 by the British Motor Company and Sir Alec Issigonis, the father of the original Austin Mini, the Moke was designed to be combat ready, a car that could be parachuted from the skies by the British army. While its life as a military vehicle didn’t last too long, the open-air car became beloved by stars, surfers and Caribbean travelers.
-The Moke debuted for civilian use in 1964 and was in production until 1993. In 2016, Moke America brought the Moke back to the United States and made it electric. Moke America produces its electric cars in Sarasota, FL. Each one weighs 2300 pounds, has 14-inch tires and comes with seatbelts, Bluetooth radio, backup camera and can be customized in 12 bright colors (+camo).
