Miami, FL – July 29, 2022 – Museum of Graffiti members and guests joined together for the opening of the Museum’s latest exhibition “Gray Matter 3.0: The Monochromatic Works of Doze Green.” The evening was filled with a talk from the artist, a signing, and a release of limited edition merchandise. Guests enjoyed cocktails and wine courtesy of the Museum’s partners Zacapa and Rabble Wines as they learned more about the artist. Master painter and style writer, Doze Green, began his artistic journey in the streets of New York City during a time of gang warfare and train graffiti. As a young artist he joined the train writers in the yards and tunnels becoming part of a select group that sought to beautify the city transit system and get their name out there. Doze, like many of his peers, straddled between his life as a visual aerosol artist and break dancer, battling teenagers in school yards by day and on the floors of the clubs by night. His activity led him to become an early ambassador of Hip Hop culture – traveling around the world alongside the Rock Steady Crew and his artist mentors: Dondi, Phase2, and Rammellzee.
