Miami, FL – February 12, 2022 – On February 12, 2022, visitors flocked to Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) for a day of art-making activities and fun. During this PAMM Free Second Saturday, the PAMM Teen Arts Council (PTAC) took over the festivities with their “Teen Takeover: The Post-Contemporary Chronicles of the PAMM Teen Arts Council.” The day’s theme centered around Zhivago Duncan’s Pretentious Crap, an artwork that illustrates the fictional end of humanity and the repurposing of the world’s machines. Inspired by this sculpture, guests were asked to ponder about relics of the past to create a personal time capsule for the future.

There were also activations by Miami Waterkeeper, who taught guests how to help protect our waters, and Miami-Dade Public Library System, who brought classic and contemporary Science Fiction to be explored. PAMM Free Second Saturdays are made possible by presenting sponsorship support from Publix Super Market Charities, LeRoy Neiman Foundation, The Edward C. Fogg, III and Lisbeth A. Fogg Charitable Trust, and by endowed funds granted by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Heckscher Foundation for Children to underwrite the museum’s broad portfolio of education programs. Together with leadership support from Miami-Dade County, these funders enable the museum to transform the lives of young people in our community through our art education programs.
