Miami, FL – November 20, 2021 – On Saturday, YoungArts hosted the organization’s 40th Birthday Party. The event took place at the YoungArts Campus in celebration of the uplifting, regenerative community of artists that the organization has supported since 1981.
Starting with a festive cocktail hour on the YoungArts Plaza, the evening seamlessly transitioned to an intimate seated dinner inside the Jewel Box with a menu of Wahoo Avocado Mosaic and Ariete Shortrib, designed by Miami chef Michael Beltran. The highlight of the evening was a performance by the evenings Master of Ceremonies and YoungArts award winner Queen Esther (1983 Theater), who gave renditions of three Billie Holiday standards. The celebration culminated with desert and a birthday toast that recognized the monumental occasion dedicated to celebrating artists and their impact on society.
The YoungArts Birthday Party was chaired by Sarah Arison and Thomas Wilhelm, Jay Franke and David Herro. Rosie Gordon-Wallace, Simon and Nikolai Haas, Rosie Herrera, Alberto Ibargüen of the Knight Foundation, Nu Deco Ensemble, and Jorge M. and Darlene Pérez. Notable Guests included Adriana Cisneros, Craig Robins, local arts leaders Franklin Sirmans, Alex Gartenfeld and Mikhaile Solomon, architect Germane Barnes, and artists Naomi Fisher, Robert Chambers, Simon Haas, Loni Johnson, Chire Regans and José Parlá.
