Miami, FL – December 28, 2024 – A popular New York Mexican restaurant has found a new home in Miami’s historic Vagabond Hotel Miami, bringing its award-winning flavors and coastal vibes to the vibrant city.
Ensenada Miami, a seafood-focused eatery renowned for its mezcal expertise, was founded by Bryce David and chef Luis Herrera in Brooklyn, where it earned a spot on Bon Appétit’s Best Restaurants of 2023. Now, the Miami location joins forces with Ahmet Erkaya, owner of the beloved Mandolin Aegean Bistro, blending Ensenada’s Latin American-inspired coastal cuisine with Miami’s rich culinary scene.
Highlights include ceviches, Ensenada-style fish tacos, and new Miami-only dishes like swordfish “Al Pastor” tacos and a raw seafood platter. Chef Herrera, a James Beard Award semifinalist, adds a personal touch with nods to his Venezuelan roots, while his girlfriend, Raven Simone Walker, crafts unique ice cream flavors like guava and chamomile under her brand Pachamama Helados.
The restaurant also features a thoughtfully curated beverage program spotlighting natural wines and artisanal mezcals, underscoring the team’s dedication to quality. With a focus on consistency and collaboration, the partners aim to bring the best of Ensenada to Miami’s growing dining scene while staying true to their values.
