David Castillo: Alien/ΛᄂIΣП Art Exhibition Opening Reception

Miami, FL – December 3, 2024 – The Alien exhibition, curated by Yesiyu Zhao, opened with a powerful exploration of the themes of otherness, estrangement, and the unfamiliar. The show brought together over 20 AAPI artists, each working in various media, to delve into the concept of alienation across cultural, social, and political contexts. Through their works, the artists illuminated the harsh realities of displacement, immigration, and the feeling of being an outsider, transcending the sci-fi notion of the “alien” to address real-world experiences. The exhibition invited visitors to reflect on the many dimensions of what it means to be alien in today’s world.
