Miami, FL – November 2, 2024 – Derick G. and Abel Sanchez of the Stadium Miami Collection gathered at the Art of Hip Hop, to discuss all things 305 and show rare objects and ephemera from our city’s colorful history.

Derick G. is a Miami historian and hip-hop documentarian who was a car fanatic from an early age. He photographed cars and networked within Miami’s low-rider community, ultimately becoming a resource to producers looking to book specialty cars for hip-hop music videos. Finding himself on the set of music videos, he began organically capturing rare behind-the-scenes moments. These historical images led Derick to a career with the biggest names in hip-hop, documenting their creative process. His subjects and clients include most of the superstars who have a special connection to Miami, such as Lil Wayne, Birdman, Trina, Trick Daddy, Drake, Rick Ross, and, of course, Mr. 305 himself, Pitbull.

Abel Sanchez is a local historian & owner of Miami Stadium, Inc. The Miami Stadium Collection, established in 2020, is where history and culture collide.
