Miami, FL – April 21, 2024 – The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science welcomed over 2,500 guests for Earth Day 2024: Presented by FPL SolarNow. The event was filled with hands-on activities and special presentations that highlighted environmental innovations and the important conservation work being done by the museum and its community partners. Guests discovered Earth through virtual reality, created music with plants, learned about upcycling, and met with local scientists and environmental advocates from Miami Waterkeeper, the Underline, the Everglades Foundation, Compost for Life, and the museum’s Conservation team. Guests also watched a special documentary that celebrates the role that women have played in the conservation of the Florida Everglades, Women of the Watershed, in the Frost Planetarium. Representatives from Miami-Dade Library System, FPL SolarNow, and Florida Prepaid also engaged guests with environmentally-themed activities. Earth Day 2024 was generously sponsored by FPL SolarNow with additional support from Florida Prepaid.
