Miami, FL – April 26, 2023 – Wednesday night at Locust Projects, we welcomed Richard Brown Baker Curator of Contemporary Art at RISD Museum, Dominic Molon, as the speaker for our final TALKS of the Spring season. Dominic took us through his non-traditional path to becoming an arts professional, which ultimately led to his now extensive curatorial career. He detailed some of his early experiences as a curator that allowed him to overlap subcultures and history with visual arts, such as Sympathy for the Devil: Art and Rock and Roll which first opened at Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago back in 2007. Dominic also shared some insight into the extensive process of finding and obtaining historical artworks for his upcoming exhibition, Nancy Elizabeth Prophet: I will not bend an inch, which will open at RISD Museum, The Brooklyn Museum, and Spelman College: Museum of Art over the next 2 years. The night ended with people connecting over bites from Epic Cheese boards, exploring Locust Projects, and having the opportunity to spend 1-on-1 time asking Dominic questions.
