We sat down with the Time Out Market Miami team to gain more insight.

WRE: What is the concept behind Time Out Market (TOM)?

Time Out: TOM is a neighborhood hub in the heart of Miami Beach, a destination for locals and visitors seeking great food and drink, social interaction, or a fabulous spot to post up and work virtually. Located in the heart of Miami Beach right off Collins Avenue, Time Out Market Miami brings the best of the city under one roof: its best chefs, drinks and culturally-fueled programming.

WRE:  Time Out has become a successful global brand that has launched in over 331 cities and 59 countries. Why was Miami chosen as one of the locations to expand into?

TOM: Time Out Markets are all located in vital, vibrant cities and when you talk about the most exciting cities in the US with some of the hottest food trends and talents, Miami is undoubtedly one of them.

We pride ourselves on our ability to curate amazing chefs, concepts and talent to give our guests an amazing survey of what the city has to offer.

WRE: What dining experiences and restaurants can guests currently enjoy at TOM?

TOM: We pride ourselves on our ability to curate amazing chefs, concepts and talent to give our guests an amazing survey of what the city has to offer. Among our current vendors are Pho Mo, modern Vietnamese by the heralded team behind Miami’s Phuc Yea restaurant, 33 Kitchen, which serves flavorful, traditional Peruvian fare and Miami’s one-of-a-kind Azucar ice cream.

WRE: Today, Time Out Market Miami houses a curated food hall of 17 kitchens, three bars, and a demo cooking area. Tell us about the exciting newest vendors and concepts opening at TOM.

TOM: Our most recent additions are Detroit-style Square Pie City pizza by Miami’s notorious Chef Jeremiah Bullfrog; modern soul food by chef, community activist and social media influencer Amaris Jones – Chick’N Jones; and LUR Basque cuisine by Michelin-vet Chef Aitor Garate Berasaluz. Opening just in time for the holidays, Bubusan sushi and omakase; Holy Crab, featuring stone crabs and seafood; YU ME, Japanese street food by the famed Yakko-San restaurant team; Plants & Bowls, fresh salads, juices, smoothies and bowls; Vinya, a new organic wine bar from the team behind the famous Key-Biscayne Wine & Market; and King Patty’s, modern Caribbean street food.

WRE: In addition to the restaurants, can you tell us about your beverage programs and vendors?

TOM: Miami definitely has a great cocktail culture, so developing a killer craft cocktail menu was a top priority. In addition to the signature cocktails we offer year-round, we also menu countless specials. Those can be seasonally inspired or tied to a fundraising effort or piggyback off a major local event, such as Pride Week. Everything we do keeps the community in mind.

Time Out Market Miami brings the best of the city under one roof: its best chefs, drinks and culturally-fueled programming.

WRE: What upgrades have been made to the interior and exterior of TOM?

TOM: Our spaces are always evolving. Extra spacing and added separation between tables, a COVID adjustment, have proven to be such welcome changes we’ve adopted them as permanent. We expanded the dining/lounge space adjacent to the stage to allow for more room to stretch out and mingle and of course, maintained our fabulous patio seating. Other enhancements include new plant foliage for a more Miami tropical feel, lanterns and cocktail service on the patio. We are awaiting new banquettes for our bars.

WRE: What programming will TOM do for the Miami market and how will it differ from other TOM around the world?

TOM: We carefully select the entertainment, events, and activations we host like our vendors. For example, Miami Art Week was a major international event. That week we hosted an exclusive showing with Curator Jess Conaster and Black dove, titled Metaversal Language: Digital Art as NFTs, artist talks and multiple market pop-ups by brands Mezcal Amares, EchoeEchoe, ShopShops 360° GlamCam and biostation: Premier Age Management & Wellness Centers.

WRE: What does the future of TOM look like?

TOM: Expansion of our vendor offerings and a steady stream of fun, interesting and innovative special events. We are excited to be a part of this year’s SOBEWFF, hosting the official Chef After Party. A few of our concessions will also participate independently, like  Amaris Jones of Chick’N Jones and Chef Aitor Garate Berasaluz of LUR. We always strive to keep things new, fresh and exciting so our local fans have reason to come back again and again and first-timers always discover something they’ll remember.
