Bal Harbour, FL – December 3, 2021 – Bal Harbour Shops has created The Bal Harbour Shops Emerging Fashion Photography Award, which celebrates a US-based fashion photographer under 30 and honor their work. In keeping with Bal Harbour Shops’ 56 year legacy of supporting fashion photography, this award was created to honor the best new talent in the field.

Bal Harbour worked with an incredible jury of leading photographers and editors, such as Alessia Glaviano (Vogue Italia), Diana Markosian (Photographer), Gillian Laub (Photographer) and Michael Famighetti (Aperture) who selected Tyrell Hampton as the winner for the inaugural year. The dancer-turned-fashion-photographer captured the attention of the judges through the energy and emotion in his images.

On Friday, December 3^rd, during Miami Art Week, Bal Harbour Shops hosted a private luncheon in their Center Courtyard to announce and celebrate Tyrell Hampton as the inaugural recipient of The Bal Harbour Shops Emerging Fashion Photography Award drawing over 60 industry-leading guests including fashion photography legend Bruce Weber. Guests dined among Bal Harbour Shops’ Floral Sculpture adorned with more than 600 Vanda orchids and 1,000 bamboo floral stems created by Sandra de Ovando with a specially curated menu by Le Zoo.
