Miami, FL – October 1, 2021 – In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Miami Design District hosted the sixth annual Fashion Strikes Cancer event to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The District inaugurated the events with the annual lighting of their Fly’s Eye Dome in Palm Court.
As guests sipped “Pink By Design” cocktails by Mia Market, enjoyed ice cream by MadLab, listened to live music and mingled, the countdown commenced and the dome lit the district in hues of pink. Following the dome lighting, was a soulful dance performance to pay tribute to the fight against breast cancer. Founded and hosted by fashion visionary, stylist and breast cancer survivor, Angeles Almuna, the event was created to commemorate her battle with cancer and to give hope to all those who are suffering, suffered, or have lost a loved one to cancer. This year, a series of events will be held throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the Miami Design District to raise critical funds for breast cancer research.
