Basel, Switzerland – September 21 & 23, 2021 – Inspired by the Design Miami/ Basel 2021 curatorial theme – Human Nature – “Human Nature: Design Beyond the Human-Centric; Presented by Dr. Hauschka and dieDAS” brought together visionary design thinkers and practitioners to examine the evolving relationship between humans and the natural world and the role that design can play in bridging the catastrophic divide between the two. Flora van Gaalen of Het Nieuwe Instituut moderated the panel that included Andrea Trimarchi of Formafantasma, Sofia Lagerkvist and Anna Lindgren of Front Design, and Maurizio Montalti of dieDAS and Officina Corpuscoli.

For “Designing the Future: Promising Pathways to a More Sustainable and Equitable Tomorrow,” Mateo Kries, Director of Vitra Design Museum, and Yves Béhar, Swiss entrepreneur, educator, and CEO/Founder of multidiscipline design studio fuseproject, came together to discuss the most urgent global topics through the context of Béhar’s work – from creating a more equitable, sustainable future to transforming the human experience through design at the intersection of technology and empathy.
