Hillel at FIU x Amar’e Stoudemire Diversity University Kick-Off Celebration at Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU

Miami Beach, FL – September 19, 2019 – The community gathered at the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU to support Hillel at FIU as they partnered with Amar’e Stoudemire to launch Diversity University, an initiative that combats racism and antisemitism on college campuses through innovative, bridge-building programming. Stoudemire was presented with a proclamation from Miami-Dade County, given the key to the city of Miami Beach by Mayor Dan Gelber and spoke about his journey into Judaism and to the land of Israel. Two students spoke about their own journey and the importance of creating understanding, open environments on campus, before guests dined and danced to sounds by DJ Mike Deuce. It was a fantastic evening for an important cause that will change the landscape of college campuses.
