Miami, FL – July 18, 2019 – On Thursday evening, guests gathered at PAMM to celebrate The Other Side of Now: Foresight in Contemporary Caribbean Art opening exhibition dinner celebration. Guests enjoyed a conversation with co-curators María Elena Ortiz and Dr. Marsha Pearce, facilitated by contributing catalogue writer Jason Jeffers, exploring the ideas, motivations, and origins of the project while seeking to address the question “what might a Caribbean future look like?”. The Other Side of Now: Foresight in Contemporary Caribbean Art is on view through June 7, 2020 and is curated by María Elena Ortiz, Associate Curator at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), and Dr. Marsha Pearce, Cultural Studies Scholar based at The University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus.
