Miami, FL – May 9, 2019 – The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts), along with partners Deutsche Bank and ONE Sotheby’s, hosted a private dinner for its members celebrating the opening of the photography exhibition can we be as brave? curated by acclaimed director, photographer and YoungArts Vice President of Artistic Programs Lisa Leone. Guests were welcomed in the YoungArts gallery where they viewed the works of 13 YoungArts alumni, enjoyed prosecco and passed hors d’oeuvres, and participated in an interactive photo experience. Attendees then moved up to Ted’s at YoungArts for a seated dinner surrounded by projections of works in the exhibition. Josh Bermudez (2014 YoungArts Winner in Jazz) serenaded guests as they entered the room before Stacey Glassman Mizener, YoungArts Vice President of Development, made welcome remarks.
The dinner presented a special opportunity for members to meet and connect with artists. Daniela Amaro (2016 YoungArts Winner in Voice) performed a special piece she created just for the evening inspired by the exhibition, and Lisa Leone spoke about her curatorial process before inviting exhibiting artists Eli Dreyfuss (2016 YoungArts Winner in Photography), Angela Francis (2014 YoungArts Winner in Photography & U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts), Haley Hasen (2015 YoungArts Winner in Photography) and Danny Rosenberg (2011 YoungArts Winner in Cinematic Arts) to speak about their respective practices.
