KZ_K Studio Art Basel Installation: Transformational Habits at Platform Curated by Sogol Decor
Miami, FL – December 6, 2018 – As editorialized by fashion critic Robert Cordero of Business of Fashion, in his article Transformational Value, covering their inaugural collection: KZ_K Studio creates, “directional and versatile clothes that bravely tackles women’s’ shifting perception of real fashion value… ‘We have taken this deeply to heart by enabling each piece to be worn in various, truly distinct ways,’ notes designer Karolina Zmarlak.” In their Installation at Platform, curated by Sogol Decor, they have taken the conceptual underpinning of their design origins: creating pieces that are multifunctional, versatile, reversible–all with technically advanced fabrics, such as washable stretch leathers–to develop a practical set of techniques and patterns. The result: a design-minded aesthetic of minimalism; all aimed at modern women who are both in motion, and in a constant state of creative productivity.
The Installation contrasts the 4 multifunctional coats that KZ_K Studio are known for, called the “Transformational Habits.” The team led by Karolina Zmarlak and Jesse Keyes, remain steadfast in their continued development of these concept, current world applicable pieces: the Techno Jacket, the Habita Trench, the Glove and the Drape Jacket. In the Installation, the Habits share a celestial, spatially higher placed set of pieces, representing newly inspired, fantastical sculptural collections, nonetheless founded in the real world of functionality. TheTransformational Habits are lifted and put in central relief by KZ_K Studio’s current, complex-world-aware designs. The Installation, TRANSFORMATIONAL HABITS, may be found at the Platform through January: 410 Meridian Ave #101, by Appointment: info@karolinazmarlak.com.
