Miami, FL – February 9, 2018 – Miami City Ballet premiered One Line Drawn by contemporary choreographer Brian Brooks at BRAVA By Brad Kilgore. Theme and Variations, George Balanchine’s classic masterpiece, as well as Jerome Robbins’ lighthearted The Concert (Or, the Perils of Everybody), universally acclaimed as the funniest of all comic ballets, were also featured. A celebratory post-performance reception sponsored by Ocean Bank was held at BRAVA by Brad Kilgore. Over 150 guests, including MCB Board Members, philanthropists, supporters and MCB dancers attended the members-only Artist’s Circle event and enjoyed wine donated by Chateau Gaby. MCB Board Chair Kristi Jernigan introduced Brian Brooks who spoke about his inspiration and his new role as the inaugural Choreographer in Residence at Chicago’s Harris Theater for Music and Dance.
