Toys for Boys Celebrates Multidisciplinary Artist, Typoe at Faena

Miami Beach, FL – May 18, 2017 – May in Miami calls to mind a few things: some celebrate the ushering in of summer months and others maintain that it represents the end of the proverbial season in the city of dreams. At Toys for Boys, the belief is that Miami is always in season. And as such, a trifecta of celebratory moving parts were put together to usher in summer in style. Melding art, nightlife and lifestyle publishing; the men’s magazine celebrated Miami-born, multidisciplinary artist, Typoe at the secret bar at the beach’s latest hot digs, Saxony Bar at the Faena Hotel. Typoe’s signature birds were installed to punctuate the swanky lounge that not everyone has had the honor to see, while guests read the exclusive interview conducted by Toys for Boys contributor, Erin Newberg of @MsErinsita. Guests in attendance than the gamut from Type collectors to Faena Rose Members as well as Toys for Boys VIPs who danced the night away to beats dropped by none other than DJ Gabby Mejia while sipping a from a curated bar that included favorites from Zacapa Rum to Don Julio Tequila and Hilhaven Lodge Whiskey. Similarly on the menu was a virgin signature Shirley Typoe for those who weren’t indulging in the afore mentioned libations–few were served. Local tastemakers came to support in droves. Everyone from Tara Solomon and Nick D’Annunzio to fellow artist Carlos Betancourt, architect James Wall, photographer Camilo Rios White, basketball player Rudy Gay, restauranteur and event specialist, Jillian Jacobson, to a slew of heavies that included recognizable names such as Erin Newberg, Brooke Lauren, Danny Mac Crohon, Tito Gaudenzi, Timothy Walker, Pablo de Ritis, Jilian Sanz, Paula Collarte, Andreina Cisneros de Behne, Christopher Adeleke and others, topping off at 100 local influencers. As the night winded down and guests left, Toys for Boys issue 10 in hand, one thing was certain, this summer is just getting started.
