Miami, FL – January 28, 2017 – The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum FIU Director Dr. Jordana Pomeroy welcomed guests to the opening reception of Marking the Infinite: Contemporary Women Artists from Aboriginal Australia, featuring the work of nine contemporary women artists hailing from remote Aboriginal areas. Miami-based collector and philanthropist Dennis Scholl and exhibition curator Henry Skerritt shared powerful anecdotes about the Debra and Dennis Scholl collection while providing guests with an exclusive tour of the seventy plus works showcased in the museum’s Grand Galleries. Special guests in attendance included Florida International University President Mark B. Rosenberg, Museum Board Chair Daniel Perron, Photo Journalist Patrick Farrell and artist Mira Lehr.
