Cadillac x Andy Warhol Museum Host VIP Dinner in the Miami Design District
Miami, FL – February 2, 2017 – The toast of Miami’s art world came out for a VIP dinner celebrating the opening of Cadillac x The Andy Warhol Museum’s Letters to Andy Warhol exhibition in the Miami Design District. The museum’s Interim Director, Patrick Moore, along with Craig Robins and Jackie Soffer, hosted a Warhol-themed evening that began with guests arriving in a loading dock that became the famous artist’s “factory” for the evening. From there, an elevator whisked guests directly into the exhibition that combined vintage Cadillac imagery from Andy Warhol, letters written to the artist by luminaries such as Mick Jagger, Yves St. Laurent and Truman Capote, as well a new works from current artists based on these letters. This includes a VR-experience by Sean Lennon, a film directed by Chiara Clemente, a giant book by shoe-designer Brian Atwood and JJ Martin, and an insta-Warhol photo booth.
Guests were then ushered to a private dinner staged at district hotspot OTL. Along the way, guests passed a 2017 Cadillac CT6 parked in the Palm Court and a red vintage 1959 Eldorado Biarritz convertible that was on view from the restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows. Once guests were seated, a three-course dinner that included nods to the pop artist, such as bold pops of color, silver leaf and “Andy” Coca-Colas, was enjoyed at a 54-person banquet table dressed with red roses. Additional attendees included collectors and notables Jorge and Darlene Pérez, Barbara Becker, Ines Rivero, Criselda and Jonathan Breene, gallerists David Castillo, Fred Snitzer, Nina Johnson, institutional heads including Phillips Collection Chairman, Vivian Pfeiffer; ICA Director Ellen Salpeter; Director of PAMM Franklin Sirmans; Bass Museum Executive Director and Chief Curator Silvia Karman Cubiña; Timothy Rodgers, Director of the Wolfsonian-FIU, Liaisons’ Susanne Birbragher and Cadillac’s Katie Kim.
