Jazz at Joe’s Stone Crab
Miami Beach, FL – October 23, 2016 – The annual “Jazz at Joes” champagne brunch event, hosted by the Women’s Committee of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, raised $125,000 to support the nonprofit organization’s youth mentoring program. More than 350 people attended and enjoyed Joe’s famous stone crabs, classic key lime pie and live jazz music at Joe’s Stone Crab. The money raised at this year’s event will help cover the cost to match 65 youths (“Littles”) with (mentors) “Bigs.” The organization served nearly 2,000 kids during the 2015-2016 academic year – but needs resources and volunteers to serve more kids during 2016-2017. The annual cost of screening, making and supporting one community-based match is $1,500. Anirays Camino and Carol Chin served as chairs of the event. Sponsors included Diamond Saxophone Sponsors Anirays and Maximillian Camino and Saddy Delgado as well as Platinum Saxophone sponsors Dial 4 Care, Gladys Rustan-Hernando, Brett and Sean Elias, Chris Gunn and Susan Rutrough. The PR sponsor was Roar Media.
