Adrienne Arsht Center’s 10th Anniversary Season Gala Concert

Miami, FL – April 21, 2016 – As a highlight of its 10th Anniversary Season, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County held a spectacular gala to celebrate a decade of artistic excellence and to pay tribute to its name benefactor Adrienne Arsht. Hosted by Andy Cohen, Emmy Award-winning Bravo TV host, producer and best-selling author, the Arsht Center’s 10th Anniversary Season Gala Concert Live featured a variety of world-class artists including the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, one of the world’s most celebrated dance companies led by Miami native Robert Battle; a performances by former Glee star Darren Criss and Cuban American singer and songwriter, Jon Secada; Arturo Sandoval, Grammy, Emmy and Presidential Merit of Freedom award-winning trumpet master; Michael Feinstein, multi-platinum-selling entertainer dubbed as “The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook.”
Guests also enjoyed thrilling performances from beloved community-based institutions and Arsht Center resident artists such as Florida Grand Opera Young Artists and Chorus; American Pops Orchestra Conductor Luke Frazier conducts the multi-genre University of Miami Frost School of Music’s Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, with a special appearance by musical director and pianist Shelly Berg, legendary Grammy Award-nominated piano artist and Dean of the Frost School of Music; and Miami Mass Choir, the Arsht Center’s resident gospel choir now celebrating its 20th anniversary. The Gala’s Honorary Chairs were Sue Miller and Judy Weiser. Adrienne Arsht, the Center’s name benefactor, was also honored for her extraordinary and ongoing commitment to the Center. Gala proceeds will support the Center’s mission driven arts education and community outreach programs, which enrich the lives of people of all ages in South Florida.
