Miami Beach, FL – April 28, 2014 – When entering the lavish nightclubs of South Beach you may notice something that catches your eye immediately upon arrival, and no we’re not referring to the big security guy standing in between you and VIP. They are out every night and can typically be found amidst the crowds, on stage, or even on stilts sporting eccentric costumes. They are the incredible performers that make up Zhantra. These entertainers haven’t always been at the forefront of all the hottest clubs in Miami, but once they entered you better believe they were there to stay.

It all began when a twenty-three year old go-go dancer named Bengy Cid became the liaison between the company she worked for and the other dancers. After taking some time off to raise her daughter, Bengy continued to get calls from previous clients asking her to consider working again. Although she was unsure if she wanted to compete against her former company, she needed to make ends meet. Once she started to work as a dancer again she knew that there was more to the business, more she could offer to really bring something bigger, more than just a typical “dancer.” Bengy took the initiative and with the knowledge she gained in the nightlife business, and her unwavering entrepreneurial spirit, launched her entertainment company, Zhantra in July 2004.

While working at Crobar, her keen reputation began to spread rapidly throughout the nightlife industry in Miami. Quickly, Zhantra became the talk of the town, adding bigger clients such as Nikki Beach, Mynt, Space, and Gryphon at The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to her client list. The company would eventually take a turn for the better when Suite nightclub requested dancers that looked like models. Eventually the girls who worked in her Nikki Beach fashion shows were trained to be her new dancers and were immediately sent to Suite. “It was an overnight success! Within a month I had every nightclub calling me asking for dancers that look like the ones I would book at Suite,” Bengy explained.

Gustavo Casanovas & Bengy Cid

At that time it was Gustavo Casanovas who helped completely change the face of the company. He had a vision of fusing together the dancers with a more extensive wardrobe, bringing an artistic aspect to the business. With his background in costume design it seemed as if they truly had something magical that would change the entertainment and nightlife industry as we know it. Stunning costumes laced with beads and jewels, exaggerated makeup, and wildly amazing ideas were what set apart Zhantra performers from the rest.

Zhantra’s big break came in 2009, when E! did a news segment on the sexiest jobs in Miami, out of the twelve jobs featured; Zhantra came in at an impressive number three. Once that segment aired, the business began to flourish more than ever. It opened up an endless number of doors leading to the bright future of the company. Bengy developed Zhantra into a full-service entertainment and production company featured in local, regional and national press. Under her direction, she has gathered a team of nearly 200 performers and has become recognized all over the map for some of the most tantalizing and dynamic specialty performances, choreography, and costuming to service the corporate world, the stage and screen alike. She decided to expand her company’s talents to New York, Chicago, and now the golden city of Las Vegas.  “For the last two years I have been approached by big name venues to see if we were opening in Vegas anytime soon. At first I was a bit skeptical but when one of my main girls told me she was thinking of moving there and wanted to help expand the company I said ‘Hell Yes,’” said Bengy.

Although they continue to develop in various cities around the country, Zhantra is still focused on taking over Miami. They plan to work with more corporate events as well because with bigger budgets comes even more creative costumes and performances. “We like to create from scratch, that’s what fun for us and we can do that with a bigger budget,” said Bengy.

The girls that make up Zhantra aren’t your average dancers that you would find in any ordinary club. The models and dancers are the absolute best of the best and must be a certain height, have extensive dancing experience, and fit the professional standards. Zhantra has no interest in hiring party girls; they are looking for women who take their careers and the company seriously. Due to Zhantra’s prestigious reputation, the company has dancers from around the country lining up, eagerly wanting to jump on board and get the opportunity to work with the finest team. To become a part of Zhantra the dancers must first interview and audition. Once they’ve made the cut they are trained to properly do their hair and makeup, and how to conduct themselves within each work venue.

Of course, the beautiful ladies of Zhantra have some help when transforming themselves into nightclub goddesses. Gustavo is in charge of creating the fabulous wardrobe. Over 90 percent of the costumes you see these tantalizing dancers wear is handmade with materials found from travel and inspiration all over the world. A staff of only five to six helps produce and sew everything. The outfits are one of a kind and customized to compliment whatever the theme of the night or occasion may be. The various unique costumes are what help draw the hottest nightclubs in. Everyone is looking to do something different that helps their club stand out from the rest and Zhantra is always willing to make that happen; every client is made to feel special.

It is not only the look that creates the perfect Zhantra girl, it’s the act as a whole. Bengy and Gustavo make sure they stay current with the latest trends. With about twelve bookings a day, and sixty to seventy girls out working, they are constantly developing new dances, props, designs and anything to make the ladies stand out. With their next venture in Las Vegas beginning in June 2014 and their already admirable standing in Miami, the possibilities are endless for the Zhantra team. In the meantime, catch these zealous performers strutting their stuff at the hottest venues, becoming an essential part of the nightlife experience.

I think we can really change the vibe of the dancers and make some really amazing productions in Vegas as it is the number one spot to be at. If they are going to be the #1 town to party, they need the #1 entertainment company with the hottest girls don’t you think?
