Miami Beach, FL – January 16-19, 2014 – We are sure everyone is sitting at work today, dreaming of being lounged under the sun by a pool with a delicious cocktail in hand, wishing it were the weekend. Well tomorrow the anxiously awaited day finally arrives and we have the low down of all the exciting events Miami has in store for this long weekend in celebration of Monday’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day. From arts to comedy to music, there is a variety of things happening so if you don’t already have plans, prepare to make some now so your weekend is awesomely fulfilled.
Art Deco Weekend
If you’re looking for something different and exciting to get your feet wet this weekend then fear not because starting Friday, art buffs and admirers will be able to take a playful and nostalgic trip into the past of Miami Beach for the 37th Annual Art Deco Weekend. Running through Sunday, this year’s theme will highlight toys, games and vibrant characters of the popular design styles from the 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s. With more than 80 scheduled events including a vintage toy exhibition, and a vintage car show. New to this year’s festival is the Antique Experience, featuring a mini mart of various vintage clothes, furniture, and objects for sale. With this current gorgeous, cooler weather in South Florida, Art Deco Weekend will be the perfect fun-filled activity that you don’t want to miss out on.
Kat Williams at James L. Knight Center
Known just as much for his hair as he is for his animated performances and quick wit, comedian Katt Williams has been making his mark in Hollywood for over 12 years. Williams is accredited for his ingenuity on screen and on-stage including being named ‘hottest new comedian’ in Rolling Stone Magazine. Telling jokes with ease, the stand-up comic/actor wants to conquer the globe’s problems with laughter. Williams plans to grace Miami’s James L. Knight center on Saturday night with his comedic brilliance as a stop on his most recent “Growth Spurt” tour. Willams never seems to hold back and uses almost anything as comedy material so Miami comedy fans get ready because you just might be the butt of his next joke

Borgeous at Mansion
Borgeous has quickly been making waves in the music scene as a producer and DJ. His keen ear and innate talent to produce a provocative, textured sound has made people take notice. His earlier releases such as “From Cali WIth Love, Gangsterous & Rags To Riches” debuted in early 2013 to much acclaim. Many may also know if from his very popular remixes of Rihanna’s “Pour It Up,” and Ciara’s “Goodies”. On Friday, excited music enthusiasts and club-goers will head to Mansion Nightclub to get down to his blast-worthy beats. Borgeous is known to put on one crazy show and show Miami what kind of insane party he can create.
