Miami Beach, FL – December 14, 2013 – The Queen of Disco and the eternal American soul group, Gloria Gaynor and The Spinners, took the stage at Fontainebleau to perform classic hits including Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” and The Spinners’ “Could It Be.” It was a night of disco, soul and R&B during the BleauLive Legends Night that drew in hundreds of Fontainebleau guests and ‘70s music fans.
Gloria Gaynor’s first BleauLive performance comes off the heels of her new book titled “We Will Survive,” which is a compilation of true inspirational stories told by fans about how “I Will Survive” inspired them. A tribute to Gloria’s tale of personal strength, the hit song won the GRAMMY for Best Disco Song in 1980 and became the greatest disco anthem of all time. “I Will Survive” climbed to the top of Billboard’s Pop charts and claimed the #1 position on two different occasions.
Known for their timeless music, The Spinners’ sound and approach never loses its universal appeal. Over the past five decades, the ensemble has earned 12 gold records with hits that have topped both Pop and R&B charts. Today, original member Henry Fambrough is joined onstage by lead singer Charlton Washington, high tenor Harold “Spike” Bonhart and a soul-infused five-piece band. The Spinners have six GRAMMY nominations and maintains a full touring schedule performing for fans of all ages around the world.
