WRE Weekend Guide
Kayne West at the Yeezus Listening Session on June 12, 2013
Miami Beach, FL – November 28-December 1 – It’s the last weekend before Basel. And let us tell you, it’s no joke: Hanukkah, Thanksgiving and Black Friday—all crammed into the same weekend. There’s absolutely no reason why you should be bored. Too stuffed to move is another story entirely, but with concerts from huge acts, sales and feasts, you’ve got enough to keep you more than busy this weekend. Just think of it as Basel bootcamp. Come next week you won’t be stopping at all. Better get a move on now. You wouldn’t want to be out of shape for the biggest weekend in Miami.
Kanye West & Kendrick Lamar at American Airlines Arena
Of course Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar are hitting town on Friday, November 29. We’ve seen their names on a million and one Basel invites, so we knew the party would bring them to town. But as a bonus the two powerhouses will be putting on a show at AmericanAirlines Arena that you don’t need to be a super duper extra Basel VIP to get into. You just need tickets—or a really good friend who is willing to share theirs with you.

Thanksgiving at The Dutch
So mom lives in China (and we don’t mean South Miami, we mean the real thing) or your Miami-based mom isn’t the best chef on the planet. That doesn’t mean you have to resort to a microwave meal on the day of thanks. Instead, head to The Dutch for a new spin on the traditional meal. Think roast turducken, pickled cranberry relish, confit turkey leg stuffing and root beer whipped sweet potatoes. It’s $45 per person and way better than making a mess in your own kitchen.
Black Friday at Sweat Records
Forget waiting in line from midnight on for a TV, what you really want is vinyl. Or maybe some exclusive Black Friday releases. Get in line at Sweat Records by 8:30 a.m. and you can call one pick, which will be reserved for you. Doors open at 9 a.m. There will also be free vegan eggnog and homemade cookies for line-waiters. Also score used LPs at 10 percent off, three-for-$1 records table, five-for-$10 clearance CD table, giveaways on toys, CDs, merch and more. Head back at 7 p.m. for a live performance by indie folk duo The Bow And Ties.
Iggy Azalea at LIV
Iggy Azalea joins DJ Vice at LIV on Friday, November 29 for a post-Turkey day concert that will have you dancing to songs like “Pussy,” “Runway” and “Work.” As for if the model-turned-musician will be playing anything from her upcoming The New Classic, you’ll just have to wait and see—or hear, rather.

Trey Songz at Bamboo
Save the date for Friday, November 29 for when Trey Songz hits Bamboo. We can almost guarantee the rapper will perform “Never Again” and “Lay Up,” and being able to say you saw it live, well, that’s a bragging right you’ll want to tell over and over come Monday morning, especially when water cooler topics are a bland as mom’s stuffing.
