Miami, FL – October 17, 2013 – It was a cultural affair to remember, when African, Latin American, Caribbean and Middle Eastern music melded together for The Idan Raichel Project at Adrienne Arsht Center. The movement, which started in 2003, brought a whole new look and feel to Israeli popular music, while, at the same time offering a look at a new Israel as it grew into the young, tolerant, multiethnic place it was becoming.

Raichel collaborated with Malian singer and guitarist Vieux Farka Toure to record The Tel Avivi Session, giving the show edge, as well as accolades, as the album has been touted the best of the year by Pop Matters, as well as reaching the number one spot on the iTunes World Music chart.
