TAO Downtown Grand Opening

New York, NY – September 28, 2013 – It’s the Chinese word for way. And when its doors opened on Saturday, September 28, every A-list celeb in New York knew exactly which way to head to make it to the grand opening of Tao Downtown. Celebrating the second location in New York, the 30,000 square-foot space was packed with silver screen stars like Katie Holmes, Cameron Diaz, Sofia Vergara, Gerard Butler and Brooke Shields.

In the main room of the space, designed by architect David Rockwell, Debra Messing and Kelly Rutherford posed for pics, while Naomi Campbell danced near the art murals created by HUSH and Samantha Ronson hit the deck for the first set of the night. As the night progressed, DJ Vice took to the stage, while Ashanti jumped into the DJ booth and had a go at spinning. Watching the fun were Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, who headed to the opening after Key’s performance in Central Park. But they weren’t the only couple enjoying the soiree. Katrina Bowden and hubby Ben Jorgenson and Olivia Munn and Joel Kinnman, as well as Erin Heatherton and her beau also took in the event.

The opening of the doors of Tao welcomed even more celebs, like Will.i.am, Gayle King, Tyson Beckford, Dylan McDermott, Kid Cudi, Kelly Bensimon, Russell Simmons and Nicky Hilton.

It’s safe to say they were all well on their way to go a good evening.
