Miami Beach, FL – October 19, 2013 – Tutus, ballerina, toe shoes and plies—it’s ballet season yet again. The Miami City Ballet (MCB) kicked off its 28^th season with a chic soiree with a DJ, cocktails and MCB Student Ensemble dancers in full costume on the red carpet before show. Before the opener, the crowd was also privy to Pat Santangelo, chief of staff to Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado, proclaiming October 18^th Lourdes Lopez Day in honor of the MCB’s artistic director.

Afterward, guests took in First Ventures, which marked the excitement to come for the ballet. After the performance, Miami City Ballet Artist’s Circle patrons, along with VIPS like Ana and Rob Barlick, Alberto and Susana Ibargüen, Marile and Jorge Luis Lopez, Larry and Michele Herbert, Jacqueline Kott, Mike and Margaret Eidson, Jim and Bobi Eroncig, Claudia Perles and Ron and Charlene Esserman and MCB dancers sweetened the night with a dessert reception and a toast lead by Sue Kronick, MCB board chairman. At the toast Lopez expressed her to Miami for its continual support of this graceful art form.
