Miami Beach, FL – June 1, 2013 – Today is the first day of June. That’s right Miami, summer is officially here. It might be hard to believe, but 2013 is flying by. If May came and went as quickly for you as it did for us, you might’ve missed a thing or two if you weren’t looking. So much has happened in the past 31 days; World Red Eye was everywhere around the city of Miami and even in New York City, so we’ve decided to show you the Top 6 May Moments. From famous athletes and hip hop icons partying in South Beach’s biggest clubs to big name musical acts performing around Miami to parties in NYC filled with celebrities, it’s been a busy month. Check out these six highlights from May, and get excited to see what June will bring!

Lance Armstrong & Steve Aoki at LIV

Miami Beach, FL – May 17, 2013 – One of the biggest nights at LIV this month was when multiple Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong surprised everyone at Steve Aoki‘s explosive show. The former cyclist joined Aoki for crowd surfing on an inflatable raft and hung out in the DJ booth with Armand Van Helden while Aoki did his signature cake smashing antics. It was a wild night of surprises to say the least, but then again that’s how every Steve Aoki show goes.

Audi & VW NYC Dealership Grand Opening

New York, NY – May 10, 2013 – Another very exciting event that World Red Eye flew up to shoot in New York City was the grand opening of the Audi and Volkswagen flagship Open Road dealerships in Manhattan. We got some one-on-one time in the showrooms with TV stars Padma Lakshmi, Louise Roe, and Grammy-award winning group The Roots before everyone headed to the exclusive party. Upstairs, the rooftop was completely transformed into an amazing party with an Audi R8 and VW Beetle on display while everyone enjoyed the live performance by The Roots at the bandshell.

Absolut x Bloc Party x Agustina Woodgate

Miami, FL – May 16, 2013 – Absolut brought one of the coolest events of the month to Miami’s artsy Wynwood neighborhood on a Thursday night: Absolut X. They took over Soho Studios and put on a huge masquerade party, free and open to the public. Everyone came out to get masked and enjoy Absolut’s open bar along with cool art displays by Agustina Woodgate and a dynamic performance by British indie rock group, Bloc Party.

Miami Beach, FL – May 10, 2013 – As part of the Fontainebleau‘s BleauLive concert series, multi-platinum pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen gave a huge Friday night performance that was the perfect way to start Mother’s Day weekend. She and her band put on a great show for everyone with her popular hits and a confetti finale. World Red Eye even got to meet and interview Jepsen before she went on stage about her stay in Miami and recent collaboration with Nicki Minaj.

Miami Beach, FL – May 27, 2013 – Leave it to Mansion to close out the big holiday weekend with a major Memorial Day party. They opened up specially on Monday for Lil Wayne and Birdman to host the night. As was the trend for most of the weekend, tons of other big names in hip hop came out to end the three-day weekend with them like Meek Mill, Mack Maine, and Busta Ryhmes, making it a very memorable Memorial Day.

New York, NY – May 14, 2013 – The biggest star-studded event of the month was one we covered in New York City: the annual Gersh TV Upfront party. The Gersh Agency had tons of the talented actors they represent come out to celebrate in the Meatpacking District at rooftop hot spot Catch Roof. Gersh represents many of everyone’s Hollywood favorites like Debra Messing, Christopher McDonald, Bryan Greenberg, How I Met Your Mother‘s Josh Radnor, and Girls‘ Adam Driver, who were all there for the night among many others.
