Miami, FL – March 10, 2012 – The Second Saturday artwalk crowd descended upon Locust Projects’ new digs in the Design District on Saturday night. After nearly 15 years as a breeding ground for experimental art, Locust Projects opened its largest gallery to date, showcasing over 5,000 square feet of potential.

New paintings from local artist, Natasha Laskis, flanked the 15 foot walls, floor to ceiling, highlighting the large-scale evolution not only of her work, but also of the Locust Projects’ space. Also on display was Miami-based artist and designer Emmet Moore with a site-specific installation entitled “High, Low and in Between.” His vibrant murals greeted guests at the entrance.

Locust’s new gallery was studded with Miami-based art stars like Agustina Woodgate, Christy Gast, Manny Prieres, Monica Lopez de Victoria, and Leyden Rodriguez Casanova. Also among the 400 attendees at the opening event were Debra and Dennis Scholl, Jeffrey and Debi Wechsler, and Locust Projects Founder, Westen Charles as well as Louis Vuitton representative, Alexandra Gonzalez.
