Miami Beach, FL – April 29, 2019 – World Red Eye is deeply saddened by the the death of John Singleton; he was seen as a trailblazer who made his mark in the world as a director. Singleton suffered from hypertension resulting in a massive stroke and passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 51.

Singleton was the first African American nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director. His career spanned nearly three decades in Hollywood directing many successful and iconic films such as “Boyz n the Hood,” “Poetic Justice,” “Higher Learning,” “Four Brothers” and “2 Fast 2 Furious.” World Red Eye’s Founder Seth Browarnik and Singleton were very close friends… Browarnik stated, “For a guy who loved being behind the camera (and hated being in front of it), thank you for all the support throughout the years of our friendship. We will miss you”.

World Red Eye is honored to have captured John throughout the years.
