Miami, FL – December 4, 2018 – The temporary installation reflects on Ben Gorham’s personal relationship with the United States, a place he spent more than half of his life.  The structure and interior design of the installation is inspired by a human obsession with building and owning houses, and references its simple framework. Houses are historically associated with shelter and safety, and the project examines the possibility of this structure living within a store environment, more concerned with maximising exposure and visibility.  The Miami project navigates between these two concepts, presenting windows made of photographs mounted on light boxes, at once transparent and opaque, visible from both the inside and the outside.
